Winters, Former COO of SignalSoft Corporation, Lends
Wireless Industry Expertise to Acceleration Software Leader
Denver, Colorado – HyperSpace Communications, Inc. (HyperSpace), a worldwide leader in the development of Internet acceleration software products, today announced that Don Winters, President of wireless consulting company WhiteHawk Partners, has joined the HyperSpace advisory board.
“Don’s insight and experience will greatly benefit our strategic focus on the wireless market,” said Kurt Brock, HyperSpace Chief Technology Officer. “HyperSpace will have a key role in achieving the ‘mobile Internet’ phase of mobile business. That’s because improved bandwidth is key to people using mobile devices for sophisticated transactions.”
Mr. Winters has over 20 years of management experience in the telecommunications industry and has been involved in wireless communications since 1988. Most recently, Mr. Winters served as the chief operating officer of SignalSoft Corporation (Nasdaq:SGSF). SignalSoft is a software development company that builds location-based applications and middleware and sells to wireless carriers worldwide. Mr. Winters joined the company during seed funding in 1996 and was instrumental in its growth into a public company, that at one point, exceeded one billion dollars in market capitalization.
Before joining SignalSoft, Mr. Winters was the vice president of business development for Coral Systems, which developed and sold fraud detection software to wireless operators. Prior to that he was the managing director of corporate technology at AirTouch Communications.
In addition to his role on the HyperSpace advisory board, Mr. Winters sits on the board of advisors at Technocom Wireless and University Mobile.
